Providing an update on the U.S.-Mexico border after the end of Title 42 last week, assistant secretary for Department of Homeland Security’s Border and Immigration Policy Blas Nunez-Neto said on Wednesday that the government is continuing to see “encouraging signs” that implemented measures “are working.” Deputy assistant secretary at the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration Marta Costanzo Youth added that one of the innovations recently introduced was regional processing centres, which she said were meant to encourage greater lawful pathways.
