Justice Minister David Lametti outlined the amendments being made to Canada’s criminal code as part of new bail reform legislation he announced Tuesday. Lametti said the legislation would create a new reverse onus for repeat violent offenders involving weapons, add specific firearms offences to an existing reverse onus and strengthen the reverse onus addressing intimate partner violence.
