Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly have made it clear “all options are on the table” as they consider how to sanction a Chinese diplomat involved in an alleged threat against Conservative MP Michael Chong and his family. Mendicino said there “are long and established conventions around what is considered fair game when it comes to diplomatic activity and what goes beyond that.”
