As the coronation of King Charles III approaches, some groups are renewing calls for the King to renounce the Doctrine of Discovery – a nearly 500-year-old papal decree used to justify colonial rule, which was was recently renounced by the Pope. As Neetu Garcha reports, some see the king’s accession to the throne as an opportunity for Charles to renounce it himself.
