Many may have learned about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan through headlines in 2021 of the Taliban taking over.
But those familiar with the issue, and those who are from there, say the crisis has been ongoing for decades… disproportionately affecting women and girls.
But in our region, an annual effort is wrapped in a red scarf, and making a difference.
Joanne Rowland is with the Peterborough branch of Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan. She joins Noor Ibrahim ahead of the Red Pashmina Walk this weekend.
