Myles Gray had no alcohol or detectable steroids in his blood when he died following a beating from Vancouver police officers, according to a toxicologist who testified in the coroner’s inquest. He says he also overturned a previous finding of metragynine in Gray’s system, judging the drug was not present at toxic levels. Metragynine is a stimulant found in the herbal substance Kratom and Crown prosecutors said in 2020 it may have contributed to Gray’s death. Kristen Robinson reports.
