Ontario Premier Doug Ford spoke on Tuesday about the controversial 95-year lease with Therme for its spa and waterpark that was reported by Global News. Asked how he could justify giving public lands to a private company, Ford said there was “no public money” in the deal with Therme, but did acknowledge a planned parking structure to be built at Ontario Place was being put up by the province, which could cost taxpayers millions of dollars. But he added he would be “transparent” on costs, though would not give up a competitive advantage by revealing costs.
