White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan spoke Monday on the work the U.S. is doing to help in the evacuation of Americans from Sudan. He said there are no “American boots on the ground” in Sudan other than the brief period of time that military personnel were brought in to evacuate other personnel. But he said surveillance and reconnaissance assets are evacuating over the “land evacuation route” to facilitate safe travel by land from Khartoum to the Port of Sudan.
