Ontario Premier Doug Ford said Friday that the province would invest $500 million in Volkswagen’s plan to build a electric vehicle (EV) battery plant in St. Thomas, Ont. He added that Ontario would invest “hundreds of millions of dollars to build out local infrastructure, like roads and highways and utility systems” and to expand police and fire services.
