Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Friday that Volkswagen’s decision to build an electric vehicle (EV) battery plant in St. Thomas, Ont., its first outside of Europe, would contribute $200 billion to the Canadian economy in the coming decades. He said the plant would create 3,000 direct and 30,000 indirect jobs.
