French President Emmanuel Macron said on Thursday that Chinese President Xi Jinping shared the belief that nuclear weapons should be excluded from the Ukraine war, as he visited Beijing in an effort to persuade his counterpart to help end the conflict. Macron also urged his counterpart during a series of high-level meetings to reason with Russia on the war, saying he knew he could “count on (Xi)” to “bring Russia to its senses and everyone to the negotiating table.”
