Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said he would not comment after asked why a woman from Quebec, who was at a Syrian detention camp, would not be able to return to Canada with six other women captured during the defeat of ISIS. Ottawa lawyer Lawrence Greenspon told Global News the woman was still undergoing a risk assessment. Trudeau said the situation in northeastern Syria was “incredibly volatile” and Canada was engaged with “all of our responsibilities” but said for “obvious reasons” he could not comment further on the issue.
