Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Friday an additional $100 million in support for the police forces in Haiti amid ongoing gang-related violence. U.S. President Joe Biden commented on the announcement, saying he was “not disappointed” about Canada’s role, saying the situation in Haiti was a “difficult circumstance.” He said the “biggest thing we can do” is to increase Haitian police forces’ “capacity to deal with the problems they face.”
