Minister of Justice and Attorney General David Lametti said Thursday that amending the Criminal Code was the only way to give humanitarian aid organizations operating in Afghanistan the “certainty they need.’ He said groups will be able to apply to the Public Safety Minister, tell his office the types of activities they are carrying out and “within the scope of those activities they will be shielded from the Criminal Code.”
