International Development Minister Harjit Sajjan said Thursday, as his government announced the tabling of a bill aimed at making it easier to deliver aid to Afghans, that the discrimination of women and girls in Afghanistan amounts to a “gender apartheid.” He said Canada would continue to apply pressure on the Taliban to allow women and girls to access education.
