Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine joined the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for the daily joint press briefing in East Palestine. Amit Bose, Administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration, announced new nationwide focused inspections on railroad routes carrying high hazard flammable trains or large volumes of hazardous materials. He said there will be a combination of visual inspections and automated track inspection technology.
