The City of Vancouver has announced its proposed budget for the coming year with a property tax hike in the works that’s the biggest increase in more than a decade. Mayor Ken Sim says the pandemic “effectively drained” the city’s operating budget over the last three years and so a tax hike of 10.7 per cent is being proposed.
