China rejects Canada’s surveillance claims, says U.S. intel on giving weapons to Russia ‘speculation’

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin urged Canada to “stop unwarranted speculation and smearing,” a day after the Canadian government accused China of long-running air and maritime surveillance activities. He also criticized the U.S. for its own “speculation” and “smearing,” over concerns by the U.S. that China may provide Russia with military arms for its war in Ukraine.
