During a joint news conference with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg at the State Department in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the loss of life in the earthquake in Turkey and Syria that has killed over 11,500 people has been “truly staggering, shocking.” The U.S. has deployed more than 150 search and rescue personnel to Turkey, according to Blinken.
