During a joint news conference with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg at the State Department in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the U.S. was gaining more information about the balloon “by the hour” and that information has been shared with “dozens of countries.” Stoltenberg said the balloon confirms a pattern of new military investments and warned that “we need to be aware of the constant risk of Chinese intelligence and then step up what we do to protect our resolve.”
