‘We are really scared’: Syrians react to deadly 7.8-magnitude earthquake amid rescues

Discretion is advised. “We are really scared,” Aleppo resident Mohamed Amoury said, following a huge earthquake that struck Turkey and northwest Syria on Monday, flattening apartment blocks and heaping more destruction on Syrian cities already devastated by years of war. The 7.8-magnitude earthquake killed more than 2,200 people and injured thousands more in Turkey and northwest Syria.
