The brother of Tyre Nichols, the 29-year-old who died after a violent traffic stop in Memphis, Tenn., spoke Tuesday ahead of the funeral. When it comes to protesting Nichols’ death and calling for police reform, he said his brother “would want us to do this peacefully.” He also expressed frustration that he wasn’t there to protect his brother, saying: “The one fight that I needed to be at, I wasn’t here.”
