The World Health Organization (WHO) said Monday that the COVID-19 pandemic would remain a public health emergency of international concern, its highest form of alerts. WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in a meeting of the agency that more than 170,000 deaths were reported from COVID-19 in the past eight weeks.
