During a press conference on Thursday, Alberta Health Minister Jason Copping defended the reason the province intends to first explore the options for developing two training hubs for doctors, saying it was part of a long-term strategy for retention. He said it takes time to get the program set up and doctors trained, but he said “if you don’t start, you’ll never get there.”
