U.S. looking to bring in 5,000 refugees through ‘Welcome Corps’ private refugee sponsorship program in 2023: White House

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on Monday the U.S. State Department has launched a private refugee sponsorship program called the “Welcome Corps”, allowing groups of Americans to directly sponsor refugees for resettlement in the United States.
