China’s foreign ministry backs homemade vaccine, says country is open to WHO about COVID-19 data

China’s foreign ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said on Friday that its home-made vaccines “have basically the same protective effect on preventing severe illness and death as Pfizer’s mRNA vaccines,” citing an expert from the World Health Organization (WHO). “At present, the overall supply of vaccines and medical supplies in China is sufficient, which can meet the needs of the supply,” Wang added.
