Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning criticized growing international travel entry restrictions imposed on travellers from China, saying that the policies “lack scientific basis.” Amid a surge in COVID-19 infections following Beijing’s relaxation of its “zero-COVID” policies, the European Union (EU) also offered free vaccines to China, while Beijing has responded with confidence in its domestic vaccine supply.
