After the Competition Tribunal dismissed an application from Canada’s competition watchdog to block Rogers Communications Inc.’s proposed purchase of Shaw Communications Inc., Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre said on Friday that he had “serious concerns” about more consolidation in the telecommunications sector and that “we need more competition” for lower prices and better services for consumers.
