Canadians from coast to coast are fighting the elements as winter storms wreak havoc on holiday plans across the country. In the U.S., high winds, snow and arctic temperatures are also causing one of the most treacherous Christmas travel weekends the U.S. has seen in decades. Though this is the first restrictions-free Christmas most Canadians have had since the pandemic began, Dr. Theresa Tam is warning COVID-19 could still unleash new problems. And now, there is growing anxiety over an explosion of cases in China. In Paris, a gunman opened fire at a Kurdish cafe and community centre, killing three people. Finally, a new Ipsos poll conducted for Global News found nearly a third of Canadians say they are less trusting of information from social media than they were prior to the pandemic.
