New Brunswick releases French second-language plan for English schools

French immersion in New Brunswick schools will soon be replaced by the universal French language learning program. Students in kindergarten and grade one will get half of their instruction in French. The government says this will form the base level of French comprehension which can be built on in later years. But critics say the program will lead to fewer students achieving high levels of French. Silas Brown has more.
