James Strath Public School students in Peterborough partner with Cuddles for Cancer to make blankets for cancer patients

Lakefield-based Cuddles for Cancer had help from public school students on Thursday to help make blankets, that will be going to people in need this holiday season.

Students from Grade 6 to 8 at James Strath Public School in Peterborough, along with a number of volunteers, spent the morning making the fleece tie blankets as part of a program the school that helps give back to the community.

Organizer/teacher Krista McNamara says the students raised enough money to make 50 blankets that will be going back to the cause.

Volunteers meet in Lakefield every Tuesday at the Legion to make the blankets, which are given to cancer patients, the homeless, soldiers and veterans.
