Dozens of demonstrators who are angry over worsening economic conditions in Syria stormed the governor’s office in the southern city of Sweida on Sunday. They set fire to parts of the building amid a heavy exchange of gunfire, according to local authorities and witnesses. Reuters reported that one civilian who was being treated in the hospital had died from gunshot wounds, while the Ministry of Interior said that one policeman was killed in the clashes.
