During a heated exchange during Monday’s question period, Immigration Minister Sean Fraser slapped back at Conservative MP for South Shore- St. Margarets, N.S., Rick Perrins, after he criticized the government for its $250-million grant program to help homeowners switch to heat pumps. Perrins had said heat pumps couldn’t be a homeowners “only source of heat” due to the Canada Building Code, to which Fraser replied: “It’s a good thing Sherlock is on the case.” He said the grant program would save people money and help reduce pollution.
