Defence Minister Anita Anand outlined four new initiatives in the Indo-Pacific region through a virtual press conference on Sunday. Comprised of approximately $500 million, the new initiatives target increasing naval presence in the region, increasing joint military exercises with regional allies and partners, starting a new Canadian-led capacity-building program and supporting regional partners with cyber security enhancement.
