Speaking during question period on Tuesday, Conservative MP Michael Chong pressed the federal government for 11 election candidates who received funds through Beijing’s consulate in Toronto during the 2019 election. Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Public Safety Pam Damoff said that “the RCMP and our intelligence agencies are investigating” while Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs Dominic Leblanc responded by saying that the government has set up a critical election public protocol to monitor such situations and that there was “no change in the outcome of the election.”
