Federal health minister says premiers are preventing health ministers from taking ‘concrete and tangible steps’ in discussions

After two days of meetings with provincial and territorial health ministers in Vancouver, federal Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos told media that officials came in “good faith” to make a pan-Canadian action plan to address health care challenges. An organization representing Canada’s premiers, however, released a statement Tuesday saying Ottawa has not meaningfully addressed the need for sustainable funding.
