CUPE’s Ontario School Board Council of Unions president Laura Walton said on Wednesday that “what’s really causing problems” with bargaining between the union and the government is that the union thinks the parties are actively negotiating but then hears from Education Minister Stephen Lecce “that they’re not,” creating “mixed messages.” She also expressed concern over a “legislated offer,” including its wage proposal.
