Manitoba Premier Heather Stefanson announced on Tuesday the province will spend $3.6 million on the Downtown Community Safety Partnership (DCSP). The partnership began in 2020 between the Manitoba government, City of Winnipeg, Downtown Winnipeg BIZ, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service, Winnipeg Police and the True North Sports and Entertainment. The key objective of the DCSP is to make the downtown community more inviting and safer for Winnipeg businesses and residents taking on less serious issues previously dealt with by police.
