Willie Charlie member and former chief at Sts’ailes says Wednesday at a press conference that the proposed changes the B.C. government is making to the child-welfare laws in the province are so important to Indigenous people. Charlie says their children are their most precious resource and part of their right is to know those songs, dances and traditions. He adds this is a historic day that needs to be recognized and remembered.
