Drought causes Mississippi River to drop to record lows, impacts economy

In the U.S., the worst drought in at least a decade has caused water levels in the Mississippi River to drop to historic lows, slowing down America’s supply chain. The mighty river supports a $12.6-billion shipping industry, along with tens of thousands of jobs — but now, it’s going dry in several sections. As Jennifer Johnson reports, shipping delays will mean even higher consumer costs.
