Chinese former president Hu Jintao was unexpectedly escorted out of the closing ceremony of the Chinese Communist Party’s 20th National Congress on Saturday. As the twice-a-decade congress wrapped up, President Xi Jinping said that the conference was a “complete success,” adding that it “achieved the purpose of unifying thoughts, strengthening confidence, clarifying direction and inspiring fighting spirit.”
