Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Friday that Canada has permanently banned half the membership of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) from ever entering Canada, as protests sweep the nation following the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini. Trudeau said the government would also “massively expand” targeted sanctions and announced $76 million to strengthen Canada’s capacity to implement those sanctions.
