Loretta Lynn dead: Country music icon and coal miner’s daughter dies at 90 years old

Country music icon Loretta Lynn has died at the age of 90. The Kentucky coal miner’s daughter had written songs about life and love as a woman in Appalachia that pulled her out of poverty, which made her a pillar of country music. A statement from her family said she died Tuesday at her home in Tennessee.
