Just 48 hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin stood in front of a crowd at the Kremlin formalizing the illegal annexation of regions in Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the symbolic eastern town of Lyman has been cleared of Russian troops. Located in Donesk, Lyman is one of four regions that Putin proclaimed to be part of Russia on Friday. Russia’s loss of Lyman is a new blow to the Kremlin as it seeks to escalate the war. But as Sean O’Shea reports, the Ukrainian people are still facing a Russian-declared threat of nuclear war.
