During an emergency debate on the situation in Atlantic Canada following post-tropical storm Fiona, NDP MP Laurel Collins called on the federal government to take action on the climate crisis, including on disaster resilience. She said that it was less expensive to take such action than it does to respond to the costs associated with damage caused by storms that may be a direct result of climate change.
