John Lohr, minister responsible for Nova Scotia’s Office of Emergency Management, said Saturday afternoon that he has reached out to federal Public Safety Minister Bill Blair to request disaster financial assistance as storm Fiona pummels eastern Canada, which he said he’s been assured “will be coming very soon.” Blair added that he has also requested military assistance.
