Mark Arcand, brother of Saskatchewan stabbing victim Bonnie Burns, spoke at a press conference on Wednesday about how the family is holding up after tragedy unfolded last weekend on James Smith Cree Nation. Bonnie Burns and one of her three sons is among 11 people who died in a stabbing rampage. Arcand said “As difficult as it is to not show emotion, we’re hurting. We’re broken but not defeated.” He shared his gratitude for the communities’ support in the face of the tragedy. The family has launched a GoFundMe page to support the children in healing from the trauma they suffered and asked people to support their efforts.
