COVID-19: Health Canada has requested submissions for vaccines targeting B.A.4 and B.A.5 Omicron subvariants

Health Canada’s chief medical advisor Dr. Supriya Sharma said on Thursday that the agency is reviewing a submission from Pfizer BioNTech for a bivalent vaccine specifically targeting the B.A.1 Omicron subvariant. She added that the agency has reached out to both Pfizer and Moderna for submissions on vaccines targeting the B.A.4 and B.A.5 subvariants.
