Two of North America’s biggest fruit sellers, Driscoll’s and grower-owned Naturipe Farms LLC, are testing out growing berries in Ontario and Quebec, seeing them as cost-effective regions for larger-scale production of blackberries, strawberries and raspberries. The move comes amid drought conditions in California and high costs, though there is caution it is currently a trial.
