U.S. Department of Defense responds to increased Chinese military activity around Taiwan: ‘We will not be coerced’

During a press briefing at the Pentagon on Wednesday, U.S. Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Dr. Colin H. Kahl said that Beijing is using U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s recent visit to Taiwan to “manufacture a crisis” and “set a new normal.” Acknowledging the increased levels of military activity in the region, Kahl also insisted that U.S. “will not be coerced.”
